Every feature, in full
The short version is on the home page. This is the complete list —
what Haven tracks, what it calculates, and what it deliberately doesn't do. Everything here is
in the shipping app on iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
Money that crosses borders
- Seven reporting currencies — AUD, USD, INR, GBP, CAD, CHF and AED. Pick one
as your base and every total, projection and snapshot reports in it.
- Secondary currencies alongside the base — show any of the others with a live
rate, and switch the displayed currency on Net Worth, Dashboard, and Savings without touching a
figure you entered.
- Live exchange rates from Frankfurter, sourced from the European Central Bank.
AED is derived from its long-standing US dollar peg.
- Each country's financial year, not just January to December — Australia
1 Jul–30 Jun, India 1 Apr–31 Mar, the UK 6 Apr–5 Apr to the day, and the calendar year for the
US, Canada and elsewhere. Split years are labelled by the year they end in.
- Every record keeps its own currency — a US brokerage account and an Indian
fixed deposit sit side by side and roll into one number.
What you can track
Savings and fixed income
- Accounts and term deposits: institution, category, amount, interest rate, deposit start date,
maturity date, maturity amount, notes.
- Flag any account as part of your emergency fund and it feeds the progress
ring on Independence.
Stocks and crypto
- Trades with date, ticker, market, quantity, price, fees and notes.
- FIFO cost-basis engine — open holdings with average cost, cost basis, market
value and unrealized gain; closed lots with buy and sell legs; realized profit and loss grouped
by financial year.
- Filter lots by financial year, or narrow to open (unsold) positions only.
- Crypto runs on the same engine, valued at the prices you record.
- Sector look-through — import sector allocations and Haven spreads each
holding's value across the sectors it actually holds, so a fund lands across its real exposure
rather than in one bucket. Anything unallocated shows as Unclassified, so the total always
reconciles.
Property
- Value, loan and equity per property, with the option to keep your home or an SMSF property
out of net worth.
- Full annual history per property — estimated value, loan, equity, rental
income, operating expenses, net rental income, gross and net yield, loan interest, principal
repaid, net cash flow, notes. Charted by financial year.
- Deductible expenses and cost-base items tracked separately — the distinction
that matters at tax time, kept straight from the start.
Superannuation and pension
- Dated balances per fund. The latest entry per fund counts toward your total; earlier entries
stay as history rather than being added together.
- SMSF property is surfaced here for context but counted under Property, so it
is never double-counted.
Gold and silver
- Physical holdings by name, category, weight in grams and purchase price, valued at the metal
price you set or fetch.
Gifts and Side Quests
- Gifts — monetary gifts received or given, grouped by source.
- Side Quests — income and expenses per side hustle or hobby, with a full
transaction ledger.
- Both are kept out of net worth on purpose. They're money you want a record of, not money that
should quietly inflate your total.
Net worth over time
- Daily snapshots into a history table, charted on the Dashboard and Net Worth screens.
- Capture one whenever you like, or have Haven capture today's figure automatically when the app
goes to the background (off by default).
Prices
- A dated price book you control — prices per ticker or asset, entered by hand
or imported by CSV.
- Holdings with no recorded price are valued at cost, and Haven tells you
exactly how many, so a stale figure never passes itself off as a current one.
- Opt-in live prices for crypto and gold from Coinbase's public spot API — free,
no account, and only when you tap Fetch Live, after an on-screen note naming what is sent (ticker
symbols only). Share prices are yours to enter: no equities feed is bundled.
Financial independence
- Six milestones, each with a number and a date:
- Coast FI — your target discounted back to today at your expected return.
- Barista FI — expenses minus the part-time income you expect to keep
earning, divided by your safe withdrawal rate.
- Lean FI — 20× annual expenses.
- Work Optional — your own target number.
- Chubby FI — 28.6× annual expenses.
- Fat FI — 33.3× annual expenses.
- Projection chart out to your goal age, with each milestone marked at the age
you reach it.
- What-if sliders — change your expected return or contribution, or add a
one-off lump sum, and watch every date move.
- Emergency fund progress against a target you set, fed by the savings accounts
you flagged.
Dashboard
- Net worth headline, with emergency fund and milestone progress tiles.
- Allocation across asset classes, and net worth over time from your snapshots.
- Insights computed straight from your own figures — no model involved: how far
net worth has moved across your snapshots, your largest asset class, your largest stock sector,
where your FI projection stands, emergency fund funding, holdings missing a price, and your most
recent realized gains by financial year. On Mac, tap one to ask the assistant about it.
AI, on your terms
- On-device assistant (Mac) — chat about your actual numbers. It runs a locally
downloaded model through Apple's MLX framework: no network call is made for chat or for reading a
document. Pick the model size that suits your Mac (Haven recommends one based on your memory), or
point it at any MLX chat model on Hugging Face, and remove the model whenever you want the disk
space back.
- Statement and document import (Mac) — attach a contract note, statement,
screenshot or CSV, or paste text straight in, and the assistant fills out the right record. Nothing
is saved until you have looked at it: every field stays editable and any row can be unticked.
- Redactable financial brief (all devices) — build a summary on your device and
paste it into whichever AI you trust. Tick exactly what to include: allocation, net worth history,
FI goals, sector exposure, individual holdings, savings and pension, property, other assets,
realized gains. Account names, property addresses and personal notes are stripped by
default. Export as Markdown for an AI, or as an HTML document to read or print.
Getting data in and out
- CSV import for every table, with a sample CSV to match and a review step
before anything is committed.
- Dates the way real exports write them —
dd/MM/yyyy,
dd-MM-yyyy, dd.MM.yyyy, yyyy/MM/dd, "12 Mar 2026" and
"Mar 12, 2026" all parse. Ambiguous numeric dates resolve day-first, the Australian and Indian
convention.
- CSV export for every table (⌘⇧E on Mac).
- Full backup — every table written out as a folder of CSV files.
- Bulk select and delete, with a few seconds to undo.
- Search and filters across the record tables.
Privacy and platform
- No bank linking, ever. No account, no login, no server.
- No ads, no analytics, no tracking, no crash reporting. Haven's App Store
privacy label is Data Not Collected in every category.
- Sync through your own private iCloud. We have no server that stores your data,
so there is nothing for us to read. See the Privacy Policy.
- Three outbound calls, all disclosed — exchange rates (currency codes only,
automatic), crypto and gold prices (ticker symbols only, opt-in per tap), and on Mac a one-time
download of the assistant's language model from Hugging Face, only if you choose to set the
assistant up. None of them sends anything about you.
- Face ID or Touch ID lock, with an auto-lock delay of 1, 5, 15, 30 or 60
minutes.
- Show or hide any section — hidden tabs still track their data, they just leave
the navigation. Set per device, so your Mac and your phone can differ.
- Light and dark appearance, an optional name for greetings, and spelling that follows your
reporting currency.
- Sample data — load a full demo portfolio to explore every screen before
entering a real figure. It only loads into an empty app.
- Native on all three platforms: sidebar navigation on Mac and iPad, tab bar on iPhone, proper
macOS menu commands and keyboard shortcuts.
Free and unlocked
Haven is free to download and free to try with real data. The free tier holds 3 records per
category, 1 property, 3 tickers with 5 trades each, 5 assistant messages, and the Work Optional
milestone.
A single one-time purchase of A$19.99 removes every limit and opens the other
five FI milestones. It's a Universal Purchase — buy it on any one of iPhone, iPad or Mac and you
have it on all three. No subscription, no renewals, no upsells.
What Haven isn't
Not a budgeting app and not a spending tracker — it won't categorize your transactions or tell
you what you spent on coffee. No bank feeds, no automatic transaction imports. Gifts and Side Quests
are tracked but stay out of net worth by design. And Haven is informational only: it isn't
financial, tax or investment advice, and every figure is an estimate built from what you enter.
Free to download · A$19.99 one-time unlock · one purchase covers iPhone, iPad and Mac
